(Rev.1) ISO Standard for Surface Preparation, DFT measurement, Defect decision, Adhesion Test and Holiday Test

The painting company should carry out the following test activities in accordance with the following ISO standard or ITP (Inspection and Test Plan).

1) Surface preparation quality

① Grade of cleanliness: according to ISO 8501-1.

② Cleanliness: no grease or oil, dust level 2 maximum according to ISO 8502-3.

③ Surface profile: according to ISO 8503-5 Sa 2 1/2 (Equivalent: SSPC-SP10).

2) Salt contamination: According to ISO 8502-6 and 8502-9, The salt level-50mg/㎡ maximum for exposed atmosphere. 20mg/㎡ maximum for immersion area and internal lining

3) Adhesion Test according to ISO 4624 and/or ISO 2409.

4) Holiday test: No detection according to ASTM D5162 (for immersion area, internal lining and Underground items)

5) For inorganic zinc silicate: MEK test according to ASTM D4752.

6) Dry film thickness: According to ISO19840

7) Wet film thickness: According to recommend by paint manufacturer.

8) Application Environmental [including Weather (Climate) Condition]: Ambient Temperature, Relative Humidity, Dew point, Surface Temperature, Etc.

9) Equipment Check: Compressor Air with accessories, etc.

10) Abrasives

11) Paint Materials: Type of Paint (Label), Condition, Self Life, Batch No., etc.

12) Appearance of Paint Film: Running & Sagging, Cracking, Mottling, etc. (each Coat)

13) Color Code and ID: Indicated Color for Items and Safety Color

14) Final Inspection: Total Appearance and Test Result of Paint
